Reflections on Leadership Examples

Good leadership might mean many different things because it depends on an individual’s opinion. In mine, a good leader is mainly someone who guides others to obtain a goal that is beneficial to a group or sometimes to the whole community/society. For example, a leader might guide 100 people to a protest, which might be beneficial to them because they might obtain some rights, but by the government’s perspective it might me something bad. A good leader might also be a neighbor who organizes a fundraising activity – such as a bake sale – and is making that money to donate it to an orphanage that needs financial aid. Besides providing economic aid, a team captain could be a great leader by cheering up his team after receiving a goal in a championship game. It can also be a classmate taking responsibility in a science project by organizing each other’s assignments in the work.

Something that is common in all of the leadership examples that I previously mentioned is that they all display courage which guides others and benefits them, either emotionally, economically, or academically. They had a mission to aid others in pursuing their goals and were successful.

Some aspects of today’s class which are present in my examples:
1.     Teamwork
2.     Motivation
3.     Guiding others to action
4.     Responsibility
5.     Courage
6.     Perseverance

A.     The protest leader might suffer consequences by the government if he is linked to illegal actions, such as destroying state property.
B.     The neighbor might get in trouble if the money raised for the orphanage was used for other activities. There would no longer be any trust in him.
C.     If the team captain got in a discussion with his teammates or his coach after nor following instructions, there could be negative tension in the team.
D.    The classmate working on the science project could have the responsibility of doing all the work alone if the others didn’t care because he was not on top of them and motivating them to complete the work.
